The summertime Civic Center Block Party and Fireworks Extravaganza rocks the Lakewood Civic Center with hours of live musical performances, a Family Fun Zone and the "On the Block Food Court” with a wide variety of food booths and food trucks.
Fireworks culminate the evening's festivities at approximately 9:15 p.m. The event is typically held on a Saturday in late June.
The Family Fun Zone features activities for kids and families including amusements such as a mechanical bull, giant slide, adrenaline obstacle course, bouncers, joust war game, rock climbing wall, a pirate ship, mechanical cars and trackless train. The Family Fun Zone is in the parking lot south of the Angelo M. Iacoboni Library.
