Travel excursions

The Burns Community Center is the hub for the city’s regional travel excursions and Active+ senior programs.

Trips may include destinations such as Santa Barbara, San Juan Capistrano, the Carlsbad Flower Fields, the Newport Boat Parade, the Getty Museum, the Hollywood Bowl, theater performances, presidential museums and more.

How travel excursions work

• Trips typically include travel and admission in one price.
• Guests park and check in at the Burns Community Center, then leave the driving to a bus driver.
• Food and beverages often can be purchased at or near the destination. Guests may also bring their own snacks to many destinations.
• The bus leaves promptly from Burns Community Center. Guests should plan to arrive on time for check-in.
• An adult must accompany children of all ages.

Registration information

Upcoming trips are announced three times a year in the city’s recreation catalog. Space is limited, so register early.
