The City of Lakewood, with generous support from sponsors and community partners, hosts an annual community tree lighting event in the Civic Center Plaza.
The celebration features snow flurries and the dramatic lighting of the 24-foot-tall tree, along with seasonal activities for families and guests.
Each year, residents enjoy a festive celebration with visits and photos with Santa, food trucks, free carnival games and face painting.
Photo stations are available with colorful backdrops and costumed characters. Carolers provide seasonal music, including a community sing-along by the tree.
Lakewood held its first tree lighting event in 2014 as part of the city’s 60th anniversary celebration. The event expanded in 2015 and has continued as an annual community tradition.
