Lakewood’s free Earth Walk event is a fun, educational spring event held at rustic Monte Verde Park, the trailhead to more than three miles of landscaped walking trails and the San Gabriel River Parkway.
Children and adults can learn simple ways to help protect the environment while enjoying a guided nature walk. Along the trail, participants visit activity stations and collect specialty Earth Walk passport stamps. Completed passports earn participants a special Earth Walk gift.
Activities may include:
Woody the Tree, Lakewood’s Tree City USA mascot, may also appear to help teach visitors about Lakewood’s urban forest.
If it rains, activities may move into the park’s S. Mark Taper Lodge or under canopies.
