The Award of Valor Luncheon is held each fall to recognize local heroes, public safety personnel and residents who help keep Lakewood safe.
The event brings together Lakewood civic and business leaders, public safety professionals, block captains, Sheriff’s Station volunteers, Volunteers on Patrol and residents in a show of support and appreciation.
The L.A. County Sheriff and L.A. County Fire Chief help present awards to honorees from their departments.
The event also recognizes residents and visitors through the BOLO, or Be on the Lookout, Award. The award is presented to people who reported suspicious, unusual or criminal activity that helped lead to an arrest.
