Lakewood partners with Special Olympics Southern California to provide a year-round athletic program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Three sports seasons are offered:
Bowling and golf practice dates vary and are held off-site.
Practice times vary by sport, ability level and team. For specific details, contact the Bloomfield Park office.
Tournaments are offered each season through Special Olympics Southern California.
Lakewood’s Special Olympics teams also participate in basketball and softball games each season, including fun exhibition contests against teams from the Lakewood Youth Sports program.
Program registration and medical clearance are required before participating.
