Cooling Centers

Older adults, young children, people with health conditions and people without access to air conditioning may be at higher risk for heat-related illness. Check on neighbors, friends and family members who may need help staying cool.

Know the signs of heat-related illness

Heat-related illness can become serious quickly. Symptoms may include heavy sweating, dizziness, weakness, headache, nausea, muscle cramps, confusion or a very high body temperature.

Move to a cooler place, drink water and use cool cloths or a cool bath if symptoms begin. Call 911 right away if someone is confused, loses consciousness, has a very high body temperature or symptoms get worse.
