Holiday Home Decoration Showcase

It’s that special time of year again when Lakewood’s homes sparkle with lights, color and festive creativity.

The City of Lakewood invites residents to take part in the Holiday Home Decoration Showcase celebrating the spirit of the season and artistry of neighbors who turn their homes into dazzling winter wonderlands.

From elegant classic displays to vibrant playful themes, Lakewood residents can show off their holiday style and spread a little cheer across the city. The City will share a list of participating homes for those who would like to enjoy the splendor in person. 

If you would like to participate, just snap a daytime and nighttime photo of your home's exterior decorations and upload them when you complete the online submission form. 

The deadline is Friday, Dec. 12 by noon. 

Early entries — those received by noon on Monday, Dec. 1 — will also be featured at a community event on Dec. 9, encouraging even more neighbors to join the fun.

Here's how to participate

• Take one clear photo of the entire front-facing exterior of your home showing your display during the day AND one at night.
• Be sure your photo file names contain your street address, such as 1234MainSt-DAY and 1234MainSt-NIGHT.
• Complete the showcase entry form online and upload your photos.
• Be sure to submit your entry no later than noon on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Guidelines and details

• Must be a Lakewood resident to participate. 
• Only one entry per household, and only self-nominations are accepted. We need to be sure the resident wants to be included and is providing their contact information. 
• All approved submissions will be shared publicly so neighbors can enjoy a self-guided tour of the community’s festive displays.
• By entering, participants agree that their home photos and address may be featured in city publications and on social media.
• Each participant will receive a Holiday Decorating Showcase lawn sign and a certificate of participation, available for pickup at Lakewood City Hall.
