City Hall closures and changes to trash pickup and street sweeping in 2026
Day and date Holiday observed Street sweeping Trash pickup
Thursday, Jan. 1
City Hall closed		 New Year’s Day No street sweeping on Jan. 1. No trash pickup on Jan. 1. Trash pickup will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. Wednesday pickup will take place Thursday, and so on.
Friday, Jan. 2
City Hall closed		 Usual alternating closed Friday No street sweeping on Jan. 2. Extra holiday trash pickup continues through Jan. 3. Curbside tree pickup continues through Jan. 8. Beginning Jan. 9, trees must be cut into four-foot sections and bundled for curbside pickup.
Monday, Jan. 19
City Hall closed		 Martin Luther King Jr. Day No street sweeping on Jan. 19 only. Trash pickup will take place as usual.
Monday, Feb. 16
City Hall closed		 Presidents Day No street sweeping on Feb. 16 only. Trash pickup will take place as usual.
Tuesday, March 31
City Hall closed		 Farmworkers Day No street sweeping on March 31 only. Trash pickup will take place as usual.
Monday, May 25
City Hall closed		 Memorial Day No street sweeping May 25 through 29. No trash pickup on May 25. Trash pickup will be delayed by one day throughout the week. Monday pickup will take place Tuesday, and so on.
Friday, June 19
City Hall closed		 Juneteenth No street sweeping. Trash pickup will take place as usual.
Monday, June 22
City Hall closed		 Juneteenth observed Street sweeping will take place as usual. Trash pickup will take place as usual.
Friday, July 3
City Hall closed		 Usual alternating closed Friday No street sweeping. Trash pickup will take place as usual.
Monday, Sept. 7
City Hall closed		 Labor Day No street sweeping Sept. 7 through 11. No trash pickup on Sept. 7. Trash pickup will be delayed by one day throughout the week. Monday pickup will take place Tuesday, and so on.
Monday, Oct. 12
City Hall open		 Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day Street sweeping will take place as usual. Trash pickup will take place as usual.
Wednesday, Nov. 11
City Hall closed		 Veterans Day No street sweeping. Trash pickup will take place as usual.
Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27
City Hall closed		 Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving No street sweeping Nov. 26 and 27. No trash pickup on Nov. 26. Trash pickup will be delayed by one day. Thursday pickup will take place Friday, and Friday pickup will take place Saturday.
