Lakewood City Hall will be closed Monday, Sept. 7 in observance of Labor Day.
Lakewood’s trash contractor, EDCO, is also closed on Labor Day, so there will be no trash pickup that day. There will be a one-day delay all week.
With the one-day delay in trash pickup, street sweeping on the same day as trash pickup becomes very challenging with the potential for a low-quality sweep.
For this reason, the City of Lakewood is canceling street sweeping for the week of Labor Day. Street sweepers will provide extra attention the week of Sept. 14-18 if needed on particular blocks.
Even when street sweeping does not occur, parking enforcement will continue for non-street-sweeping related violations, such as parking in red zones or blocking sidewalks.
