Community workshops share new public safety program

Flock safety equipment on street as residents walk nearby

Lakewood residents and business owners now have the opportunity to take a more active role in neighborhood safety through a new program offered in the city.

Flock Safety, Inc.’s Community Partnership program is a voluntary effort that allows participants to share video feeds from their personal or business security cameras with law enforcement, helping to create a broader network that can aid in quicker responses and more effective investigations when suspicious or criminal activity occurs nearby.

To introduce the subscription-based program and explain how residents and businesses can get involved, the City of Lakewood is hosting informational workshops with Flock Safety and the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department. Members of Lakewood’s Public Safety Department, Flock Safety, Inc. and L.A. County Sheriff’s Department will be on hand at the workshops to answer questions from the community.

Two workshops will be held in the Council Chambers at the Centre, 5000 Clark Ave. on the following dates:

  • Thursday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 12 at 9:30 a.m.

If you are interested in the Community Partnership Program, please contact Lakewood’s Public Safety Department at 562-866-9771, ext. 2114.

You can also reach out to Flock Safety directly by calling Jermean Tabar, Community Safety Account Executive, at 949-534-8797 or jermean.tabar@flocksafety.com.
