Add your business to Discover Lakewood

Discover Lakewood is an interactive map designed to help residents and visitors find public-facing Lakewood businesses they can visit in person, such as shops, restaurants, salons, fitness facilities, entertainment businesses and other local customer destinations.

If your business has a Lakewood storefront or customer location, use the Business Update Form to add or update your listing and share business news with the City.

You can also use the form to share openings, anniversaries, expansions, seasonal specials and other updates that may be featured in the City's eMagazine, social media or other City channels.

Who can participate?

Public-facing storefront businesses with a Lakewood address may participate. This includes businesses that welcome customers in person, such as shops, restaurants, salons, fitness facilities and entertainment businesses.

Businesses operating from private residences and businesses without a publishable customer location cannot be included on the map.

Before you start

Have your business information ready to set up your profile, including: 

  • Business name, street address, zip code and phone number
  • Website and/or Facebook and Instagram handles
  • Business hours (a website link to your hours is best)
  • A one-sentence description of your business
  • Up to three categories/tags that help customers find you
  • Contact name and email address 
  • A clear photo of your business or logo, if available, and permission for the City to use it. Please submit photos you have the rights to share and include a brief description of the photo when possible.

Submitting now...and later

Your profile information only needs to be submitted once. If you move or other key information changes, please submit a new form with the updated information.  

  • First time: Submit your profile information, photos and share any business news you have now — or skip the update section if you’re just signing up.
  • Next time: If your profile information hasn’t changed, you can submit updates only. 

You can submit the form anytime you have something to share. 

Businesses that sign up can also opt in to hear about City business programs, grant opportunities and economic development updates.

FAQ

  • Who can participate? Discover Lakewood is intended for public-facing businesses with a Lakewood storefront or customer location, such as shops, restaurants, salons, fitness facilities, entertainment businesses and other places residents or visitors can visit in person. Businesses operating from private residences and businesses without a publishable customer location cannot be included on the map.
  • Is there a cost? No.
  • How will the information be used? Many updates will be shared in roundups (so more businesses can be included) through City channels such as our weekly eMagazine and social media. Submitted information will also be used to build the Discover Lakewood map.
  • How often will updates be shared? Updates are generally shared in periodic roundups, with additional features during special campaigns.
  • What is the deadline for time-sensitive events (grand openings, anniversary celebrations, special promotions)? Please submit details at least one month in advance.
  • Will every submission be posted? Submissions that meet eligibility guidelines and include required details will be included in roundups.
  • What is a Spotlight? Some businesses may be featured in short spotlight videos produced by our CityTV team. See the Business Spotlight Showcase of videos.
  • How are spotlight businesses selected? Spotlights are selected using a transparent method (rotation or random draw).

Why submit a Business Update form?

If you own or manage a storefront business in Lakewood that welcomes customers in person, such as shops, restaurants, salons, fitness and entertainment facilities, the Business Update Form allows you to:

  • Be included in the Discover Lakewood interactive map (be sure to upload a clear photo of your business or logo with the form)
  • Share business news like openings, expansions, remodels and seasonal campaigns such as Small Business Week or Small Business Saturday
  • Submit milestone anniversaries (1st, 5th, 10th, etc.) so the City can recognize and celebrate your business
  • Opt in to receive communications about City business programs and opportunities
  • Be considered for occasional CityTV spotlights, selected through a fair rotation or random draw
