Lakewood, show us your red, white and blue spirit!

Lakewood residents are invited to share up to three fun, festive photos of people, families and pets showing their red, white and blue spirit as the community gets ready for America’s 250th anniversary.
Put on your favorite patriotic outfit, dress up the kids, add a red, white and blue bandana for the dog, decorate a bike, stroller or wagon, or take a family selfie in front of your decorated home or yard.
Have a young artist in the family? Snap a photo of them with their best USA-themed stars and stripes sidewalk chalk art.
Photos may include decorations, flags, bikes, cars, yards or other patriotic displays, but the City is especially looking for photos of Lakewood residents being part of the celebration.
How to participate
Use the City’s online photo submission form to upload up to three photos and give permission for the City to share selected photos on social media, the website or other City communication channels.
Only photos submitted through the online form may be selected for use in City communications.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, July 6.
Join the celebration on social media
On Instagram, post your photo on your page using #LakewoodCA250 and tag @lakewoodcity.
On Facebook, watch for the City’s photo campaign post and tell us how you’re celebrating America250 in the comments.
Guidelines and details
- Must be a Lakewood resident to participate.
- Please submit only photos you took or have permission to share (minimum 2MB).
- Professional, watermarked and/or copyrighted images are not permitted.
- Only photos submitted through the online form will be considered for use in City communications.
- By submitting photos, participants give permission for the City to use the photo in City communications, including the City website, social media, email, newsletters, printed materials and other public information channels.
- Submission does not guarantee that a photo will be featured.
