Girls Flag Football launches in fall 2026

Lakewood Youth Sports celebrates its 70th year with the launch of its first-ever Girls Flag Football League, beginning with the Fall 2026 season.

The new Girls Flag Football League offers girls a dedicated opportunity to learn, compete and thrive in a fast-growing sport.

Girls Flag Football will be an all-city program, welcoming participants from throughout Lakewood.

Competitive divisions are available for girls ages 8-17.

The league will be centrally located at Boyar Park.

How to register

Registration for the Fall 2026 season will take place online from July 25 through Aug. 8.

To sign up, visit the online eCatalog, then click on the “activities” tab and follow the link for “sports league.”

Players must bring a birth certificate prior to their first practice. There is no fee for Lakewood residents. Non-resident registrations include a $20 registration fee.

As with any new program, league formation is dependent upon meeting minimum registration requirements. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, registered players will have the option to transfer into a co-ed Flag Football league with their corresponding age division or transfer to co-ed Volleyball or Volleytennis.
