Stay cool in Lakewood pools this summer

Kids and adults can stay cool and have fun at both Lakewood pools this summer with recreation swim, swimming lessons, adult lap swimming, and more.
Aquatics activities and classes
Recreation Swim: Summer open recreation swim continues at Mayfair and McCormick Pools daily through Aug. 23 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Resident fees are $1 for children and $1.50 for adults (age 18+). Non-resident fees are $2 for children and $3 for adults (age 18+). Both pools are open on July 4-5.
Adult Lap Swimming: Lap swimming is available for ages 16 and over at both pools. It’s a great way to get aerobic exercise. $2 a session for residents; $3 for non-residents. Check the Aquatics section of the summer catalog (PDF for reference) for available times.
Lessons: Summer swim lessons continue through August. Session 3 runs July 13-24, Session 4 is July 27-Aug. 7, and Session 5 is Aug. 10-21. Group lessons are also available on Saturdays at McCormick Pool.
Aqua Zumba: Aqua Zumba is offered Mondays from July 27 to Aug. 31 from 6:40 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at McCormick Pool. Register using activity #33604.
Aqua Aerobics: Aqua Aerobics is offered Wednesdays from July 29 to Sept. 2 from 6:40 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Mayfair Pool. Register using activity #33602.
Wading Pool: The Mayfair Park wading pool for ages 3 to 7 will be open daily through Aug. 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The wading pool at Palms Park is ADA accessible and is also open daily. San Martin Park and Del Valle Park are open Mon./Wed./Fri./Sat./Sun. Boyar Park and Bloomfield Park are open Tues./Thurs./Sat./Sun. Wading Pools at Del Valle, Mayfair, Palms and San Martin Parks are also open Wednesday evenings from 5-7:30 p.m. through Aug. 19.
Family Swim Nights: Themed Family Swim Nights are offered at McCormick Pool every Friday evening through Aug. 14 from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. with the exception of July 24, when the Dive in Movie Night will feature Lilo & Stitch at Mayfair Pool. Admission is $3 per Lakewood resident and $5 per non-resident. Must show valid adult ID.

Pool Rules
- Unaccompanied swimmers are required to be at least 48 inches tall or have a valid Minnow (Level 4) Red Cross swimming card. Youngsters not meeting this requirement MUST be accompanied in the water by an adult (18 years or older) on a one-to-one basis and remain within arm's reach at all times.
- Minimum enrollment required for each class.
- Each session includes eight days of instruction and one fun day
- Classes are subject to cancellation and class schedule is subject to change.
- Swim diapers must be worn by all children four years and younger and are available for purchase at the pool.
- Approved swimsuits are required. No cut-off pants, leotards, sweats, baseball shorts or shirts are allowed (rash guards only).
- Suits and towels are not provided.
- Swimmers with long hair must tie their hair in a ponytail.
- No toys, inflatables, water wings or life jackets (except Coast Guard approved) allowed in the pool.
- Students may be moved to the most developmentally appropriate level.
