Holiday trash and Christmas tree pickup
Christmas tree disposal
For one week after Christmas, EDCO will pick up discarded Christmas trees on your regular trash collection day.
Flocked trees are OK, but ornaments, tinsel and metal or plastic stands must be removed. Wooden tree stands may be left on the tree.
Do not put the tree in a bag. If the tree is over 6 feet tall, it must be cut in half.
You can put the tree near your carts on your parkway or next to the curb.
Note: If you miss setting your tree out during the one-week pickup period, you can still add an unflocked tree to your green waste cart next time. Make sure it is small enough to fit inside the cart with the lid closed, or cut it down to fit. Flocked trees must be cut to fit and placed in the regular trash cart.
Holiday-related extra trash service
For the week immediately after Christmas, EDCO will pick up extra holiday trash on your regular trash pickup day. This is a free service, and you do not need to call EDCO in advance.
If you fill your existing carts, you can leave up to 10 standard-size trash bags about 2 feet from your cart for pickup.
You can also leave out holiday and appliance boxes.
