Lakewood offers programs, activities and support services for older adults.

Senior services include social activities, excursions, fitness classes, cooling center information, transit options, meal programs and community resources.

Support is also available for homebound older adults and residents who need additional assistance.

Active+ Over-Fifty Programs

Active+ programs offer adults ages 50 and older fun, low-cost ways to stay active, learn something new and connect with others through classes, clubs, fitness activities and recreation.

Cooling Centers

The City of Lakewood wants to remind seniors that air-conditioned facilities in Lakewood are available to help beat the heat.

DASH Transit & Buses

The city's DASH transit service is free to Lakewood residents 60 years of age or older without their own transportation and to disabled residents of any age.

Meals for seniors

Lakewood's senior nutrition program offers in-person congregate meals for a small donation. Meals on Wheels offers delivery for homebound seniors.

Travel excursions

The Burns Community Center is the hub for the city’s regional travel excursions and active senior programs.

Weingart Senior Center and programs

The Weingart Senior Center, located near the corner of Lakewood and Candlewood, is full of activities and services for older adults.
