Nature trails for walking and cycling

Walking trails, bike trails and park facilities border much of the San Gabriel River as it runs through Lakewood from Candlewood Street south to Carson Street.

Scenic routes are available on both sides of the river. At Rynerson Park, visitors can use a 1-mile walking trail and access the trailhead for the San Gabriel River Bike Trail.

Across the river is the West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail, which features native plants and natural scenery that reflect what the Lakewood area once looked like. A round trip from Candlewood Street to Carson Street is about 3 miles.
