See Something, Say Something

One of the most valuable tools the Sheriff’s Department has to keep Lakewood safe is the awareness of residents looking out for their neighborhoods.

If you see unusual activity, call the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station business line at 562-623-3500, available 24 hours a day. A deputy will respond as needed.

If you see a crime in progress, always call 9-1-1.

Examples of when to call:

  • You have questions about activity in your neighborhood and are unsure if it is suspicious
  • You want to report a non-emergency crime that already occurred and the suspect is no longer nearby
  • You are concerned about a solicitor in your neighborhood
  • You notice unfamiliar people walking your block without a clear purpose
  • You see individuals looking into parked vehicles or removing items
  • You want to report a nuisance, such as a noise or parking issue
  • You observe occupied vehicles parked at unusual hours
  • You notice vehicles that appear abandoned
  • You see people going through trash or recycling bins
  • You notice unusual foot traffic in the neighborhood
  • You observe suspected transactions taking place from vehicles

Report all crime to the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station. Crime cannot be prevented if it is not reported. By reporting suspicious activity, you help protect yourself and your community.
