Household hazardous waste collection events

Los Angeles County residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste and electronic waste at free collection events held throughout the county.

These events are operated by Los Angeles County and the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County. All Los Angeles County residents are welcome to attend any household hazardous waste collection event.

What to bring

Household hazardous waste and e-waste may include items such as:

• Paint and paint products
• Motor oil and automotive fluids
• Pesticides and household chemicals
• Fluorescent bulbs and tubes
• Electronic waste, such as televisions, computers, printers and cell phones

Before you go

• Leave chemicals in their original containers when possible.
• Place items in a cardboard box for transport.
• Do not mix chemicals together.
• Do not bring explosive or radioactive materials, tires or business waste.
• Check the event details before visiting to confirm accepted items, hours and location.

Many events are drive-through events, so residents may not need to leave their vehicle.
