Free Community Dump Day

CalTrans is sponsoring a Clean California Dump Day on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or until intake capacity is reached) at the Downey Park & Ride Lot.

These items WILL be accepted:

• Furniture and bulky household items.
• Clean dirt (in bags).
• Glass, paper and cardboard.
• Household solid waste.
• Mattresses.

These items won't be accepted:

• No explosives, ammunition, radioactive materials or controlled substances.
• No trash, tires or large appliances.
• No e-waste (televisions, computers, phones, etc.)
• No batteries of any type.
• No light bulbs.
• No household toxics like paint, insecticides, chemicals.
• No used cooking and motor oil.
• No expired medications or sharps.
• No refrigerators.

Follow these guidelines:

• Carefully secure items in your trunk/pick-up bed.
• Items to be dumped must be in your trunk/pick-up bed with no other items.
• Clean dirt must be in bags.
